DraftKings Enters Horse Racing In Deal With Churchill Downs
DraftKings and Churchill Downs Incorporated announced a multi-year agreement on Tuesday. DraftKings will introduce a parimutuel horse betting platform to its website ahead of next May's Kentucky Derby.
DraftKings has signed a deal with Churchill Downs. DraftKings will provide Churchill with parimutuel wagering rights to horse racing content. CDI will also secure additional horse-racing content for use on DK HORSE. Eventually, Draft Kings plans to integrate DK HorSE into the company’s full product of suites.
DraftKings has entered into a partnership with Churchill Downs. The company will offer sports betting and promote its products. It follows similar deals between FanDuel and Churchill and BetMGM. DraftKings is expected to be available in 21 states. In February, TwinSpires announced plans to shutter its online sports gambling division. They felt pressure to align with major sportsbooks. In the past, Draft Kings has dabbled in horse racing from a marketing perspective.
