The app will offer pari-mutuel wagering on horse racing. Draft Kings expects the app to be profitable immediately. Sports betting sites are focusing on the sport of kings recently.
Churchill Downs is going to provide advance deposit wagering technology for DraftKings. CDI announced a similar deal with FanDuel in September. The interest in horse racing among legal sportsbooks is rising. There are many sports betting markets that are open for horse races. There is a constant number of horse race races taking place at any given time. People who bet on horse raced probably bet other things as well. This makes it possible to cross-sell the other products. It also allows gambling companies to introduce themselves in markets where they might be open.
PointsBet has a partnership with Stronach Group, North America's dominant Thoroughbred horse racing company. PointsBet offers sports betting in 13 U.S. states and is developing a standalone platform. Caesars Entertainment Inc. has Caesar's Sportsbook app and Caesa Racebook app. BetMGM has app available in Florida, Louisiana and Ohio.
