Last week's 42-19 loss to the San Francisco 49ers snapped the Philadelphia Eagles' (10-2) five-game winning streak and a six-game home winning streak dating back to the playoffs. Heading into their Week 14 showdown, the Eagles hold a one-game lead over the Dallas Cowboys (9-3) for first place in the NFC East.

In this game, the Cowboys are putting their 6-0 home record on the line, seeking to avenge a 28-23 road loss to the Eagles in Week 9. A win would propel the Cowboys to first place in the division, as they boast a better division record (4-1) compared to the Eagles (who would be 3-1).

The Cowboys have won 14 consecutive home games, and last week’s41-35 victory over the Seattle Seahawks was their only one of six homevictories this season that was by fewer than 20 points.

While the home teamis 9-1 ATS in the last 10 head-to-head matchups between Philadelphia andDallas, we are avoiding backing the Cowboys on the point spread, consideringthat none of their nine wins this season have come against teams that currentlyhave a winning record.

Scheduling had a lot to do with why the 49ers were three-pointroad favorites against the Eagles last week, as they had 10 days to prepareafter playing on Thursday of the previous week, while the Eagles played theirthird game in 13 days. The second of those three games was particularlydraining for Philadelphia, as its defense was on the field for 97 snaps in anovertime win against Buffalo.

Now the Eagles have the same scenario facing a Cowboys team thatis on 10 days of rest. That means their defense should once again be introuble against Dak Prescott, who ranks in the top two among all quarterbacksin passing touchdowns, TD-INT ratio, passer rating, wins, and completionpercentage.

Per PFF’s Sam Monson, Prescott wentfrom leading the league in interceptions last season to having the lowestturnover-worthy play rate (1.4%) in the NFL this season. He faces a gassedEagles defense coming off a season-low Defensive Success Rate (per ESPNAnalytics) and a season-worst 8.0 yards per play.

At one point, the 49ersscored touchdowns on six consecutive possessions against the Eagles and went4-for-4 in the red zone while converting 8 of 11 third downs. Philadelphia’s tackling was also suspect, as 32.5% of SanFrancisco’s yards (148 of 456) came after contact.

We also expect Philadelphiato keep up with the scoring, as it put up 28 points in the first meetingdespite averaging just 3.3 yards per carry against a Cowboys defense thatentered last week ranked in the top 10 in yards per carry to running backs.

This is a four-star play, as the Over has cashed in each of thelast six meetings between these NFC East rivals.
