No banked corners and this ain’t no speedway: welcome to our preview for round three and the main event of Formula NASCAR: the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix.

This weekend all three NASCAR series descend on Austin, Texas, for the toughest technical challenge every driver will face this season: Circuit of the Americas, the heart and home of Formula 1 in America.

With two former Formula 1 World Champions joining the field, we’ll get into the recent results, NASCAR odds, and break down Circuit of the Americas (CoTA) in our EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix Betting preview.

Before bringing CoTA into our EchoPark Automotive EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix betting preview, we need to review who the oddsmakers favor this weekend.

Here are our favorites to win and potentially finish in the top five from the EchoPark odds (and one longshot for fun):

NASCAR Cup Series EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix | 68 Laps (232.9mi)

Location of the race: Circuit of the Americas, Austin, TX.

Date and Time: Sunday, March 26th, 2023, 3:30 p.m. ET.

How to Watch: Fox | NASCAR Live

There have only been two NASCAR Grand Prix at CoTA, and it has been all Chevrolet.

Hendrick Motorsports Chase Elliott won the first race at CoTA in 2021, while Trackhouse Racing-Chevrolet’s Ross Chastain – who is competing in the Truck Series this weekend – won the 2022 Grand Prix.

However, there is another winner at CoTA in the NASCAR field this weekend. 2007 Formula 1 World Champion Kimi Räikkönen returns to NASCAR and CoTA, having won the 2018 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix for Scuderia Ferrari.

Unlike most of the stops on the NASCAR schedule, Circuit of the Americas requires bettors to strongly consider the circuit’s characteristics as CoTA is a Grade 1 FIA homologated circuit purpose-built for Formula 1.

CoTA presents the most technically demanding challenge the NASCAR field faces and will face this season. This has to be factored into any EchoPark predictions.

It’s a good thing we adore this circuit.

Twenty turns across 3.426 miles comprise one lap around CoTA. The Cup Series drivers will launch their rides up an 11% gradient hill into a tight turn one before flying through the fast and flowing Silverstone-inspired turns 2-6.

Three straights give plenty of opportunity for slipstreams and overtaking. However, sector three, with the slow and technical turns 13-16 opens up into the fast quadruple apex of turns 17-18, where driver skill on the throttle and the right line will make the difference in who wins at CoTA.

2022 Cup Series Champion Team Penske-Ford’s Joey Logano is back on top of the NASCAR standings after a dominating weekend in Atlanta and has to be considered for a top-five finish at CoTA. Logano qualified sixth but finished 31st in 2022.

We’ve been on the Christopher Bell hype train, and with a third-top-five finish on the season at Atlanta, we like Bell to finish in the top six.

Kyle Busch, A.J. Allmendinger, and Ross Chastain all have won at CoTA, with Busch (2021) and Allmendinger (2022) winning in the Xfinity Series.

However, if we have to pick one driver for our EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix betting preview to win at CoTA, we will take 2022 EchoPark Grand Prix pole-sitter Ryan Blaney.

  • We expect Blaney to continue his recent improvement in form and get his first win this season.
