England vs France pick

Back the Three Lions with the Asian handicap +1 in what will be a close match. They may not win but they have been solid on both sides of the pitch in the last two matches and France has given up one goal in all four matches in Qatar.

England vs France predictions

While both teams scored three goals in their last match and each has been solid on the attack in the tournament I do not see a high-scoring match here. This match will also be a close one unlike France’s last one and England’s last two where they have won each 3-0.

First time’s the charm?

Hard to believe but this is the very first knockout stage match between England and France.

England has killed it in the last two matches where they won each by a 3-0 score. They look to erase their history against Les Bleus, who they only have one win against in the last eight matches (1-2-5) facing them.

2018 Golden Boot winner Harry Kane finally scored a goal in Qatar in the last match, but he does have four assists. Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka have each scored three goals for England, who have 12 goals after three matches.

Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling attended to a personal matter missing the last match after starting the first two and his return is a question mark.

The Three Lions have really shined in the midfield and Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice, and Jordan Henderson, who scored in the last match, will be featured again in the middle. However, while the team has at least 61% possession in the last two matches they came facing Wales and Senegal, who can’t stack up with France.

The backline defence has been superb in the last two matches, and they have given up some shots but not good ones. In an interesting stat the Three Lions have only given up one shot on target in each of the last three matches.

Les Bleus look to book a ticket back to the semi-finals

France has made it to the finals in three of the last six World Cups, winning in 1998 and 2018, and looks to take down the English to get to the semis in Qatar.

In their first knockout stage match, they beat Poland 3-1 where their attack peppered the Poles with 16 shots on eight shots on target.

It is no secret that to stop the French the English must contain the duo of Kylian Mbappé and Olivier Giroud. Mbappé leads the tournament with five goals and scored twice in the last match, Giroud has three goals and scored against Poland, and the dynamic duo have combined for eight of the nine goals France has scored.

The midfield has been a small concern for Les Bleus, as they barely won the time of possession in the last match and in their second group match lost it in the 2-1 win over Denmark.

The French defence has been good but not great, as they have not given up many shots on goal but have conceded one goal in all four matches. G Hugo Loris and company will have a tall task facing a Three Lions attack that is in top form and has six goals in the last two matches.

The Three Lions may not win but they are the bet to take

England has been very impressive in the last two matches in 3-0 wins over Wales and Senegal but facing Les Bleus will be a different match altogether. They have not faced a great attack like the French and keeping a fourth straight clean sheet is not in the cards. However, their attack will not be denied in this huge quarterfinal clash.

I see a close match in this one where one team will not dominate the time of possession. Both teams will score but I do not see a lot of goals, so staying away from the total bet. However, with the Three Lions playing Les Bleus close, take England with the Asian handicap of +1 in a match where I would not be surprised at all if it goes to penalties.

Where can I live stream the England vs France match?

It’s too costly for any bookie in the UK to offer their customers a video live stream of any World Cup match, but this doesn’t mean that you cannot enjoy a different type of live stream when you place your in-play bets.

Spreadex is the best place to follow the England vs France match as you can follow possession with passes, throwins, freekicks, and so on with audio commentary. This works great even if you happen to be on a mobile device.

Betway doesn’t have a live video stream but has an excellent live view with possession and movement on the pitch. You have quick access to a lot of statistics gathered throughout the match to help with your in-play betting decisions.

William Hill offers a 3D layout of matches open for live betting with an abundance of data which includes details such as shots on target and on woodwork. It’s easy to follow which player is in possession of the ball at all times thanks to the great live tracking system/

888sport has a very simple display and is not the most enjoyable for keeping track of what’s going on. Still, chances are that you’ll be watching the game on a bigger screen and will have more time to focus on the many live betting markets available.

What to watch out for when betting on the England vs France match?

The England vs France mathup has an almost 100-year history with England edging out the French in total wins by 17 to 9. But don’t let this be the decisive indicator for how to bet when they collide in the 2022 World Cup quarterfinals. Here are our Top 5 tips:

  • Be wary of any sudden changes to lineups before kickoff as this will affect the odds.
  • It’s easier to bet with your heart than with your head. It can pay off not to let your emotions guide your decisions.
  • If things aren’t going your way, use the cash out option sooner rather than later to reduce losses or protect winnings.
  • Plan your in-play bets in advance to keep track of your bankroll.
  • Don’t chase lost live bets by taking on bigger risks. Let it go and move on.
