English Premier League Week 6 Preview: Predictions, Odds & Best Bets

We head into the 6th week of the English Premier League with another weekend of morning soccer. The defending champs Manchester City still lead the league with a 5-0-0 start.

In the first 5 weeks of the season, we see the usual suspects at the top of the table. Behind Manchester City is Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal, who all have started 4-1-0.

Each team with tough opponents this week. Liverpool will take on West Ham at home and Arsenal will host Tottenham which should be a great game.

One team who sits at the bottom of the table to our surprise is Manchester City. They are 2-0-3 in their first 5 games this year. They’re also coming in off a tough loss in the Champions League vs Bayern Munich.

Brighton has had a really great start with 4-0-1 and West Ham is right behind them with a record of 3-1-1. Brighton is coming off a strong win by 3-1 vs Manchester United, but West Ham is coming off a rough loss to Manchester City by a score of 3-1 as well.

We’re going to get into 2 Sunday games. The Liverpool vs West Ham and the Arsenal vs Tottenham games. I love both of these matchups, and both being played in historic stadiums. We’ll also get into a prop for the Saturday games. Schedule below for all the games for this weekend.

Liverpool vs West Ham Prediction, Odds & Best Bet

Prediction & Pick: Result & BTTS Liverpool (+140)

This should be a really good game. West Ham has had a strong start, but they will be without Jarrod Bowen going into Anfield Stadium. It is always a tough task to go into Anfield as it is.

Mo Salah is off to a hot start with 2 goals and 4 assists. Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz both have 2 goals each themselves. Liverpool is 2-0 at home this season so far. Other than week 4 vs Aston Villa, Liverpool has allowed at least 1 goal in each game. They’ve scored 2 goals in 1 of their wins and 3 goals in each of the other 3 games.

West Ham is going to have to slow that Liverpool offense down and they will, but only so much. They have scored and conceded goals in all their games this year, so look for that streak to continue.

I really like this line for the value as well. Liverpool at home is heavily favored and to pair it with an anytime goal is a little riskier. Both teams should put one in, and I think Liverpool will run away with it.

Odds

  • Liverpool -260
  • Tie +440
  • West Ham +600

Arsenal Gunners vs Tottenham Hotspur: The New London Derby Prediction, Odds & Best Bet

Prediction & Pick: Arsenal/Draw + BTTS (-120)

I personally have become an Arsenal supporter since last year, but bias aside…they look good so far. This game should be a good test for them though.

Tottenham is coming in leading the league in shots per game with 14.2, 3rd in shots on target per game with 7.8 and 3rd in goals with 2.6 per game. Newly names Captain Son Heung-Min leads the team with 3 goals. James Maddison has been firing with 13 shots and 11 on target. He also has 2 goals and 2 assists to go along with it.

Other than their first game, which was a draw, Tottenham has score at least 2 goals in each game. They have a tough task on their hands in Emirates Stadium, but they should keep up their scoring momentum.

Arsenal has had two 1-0 wins this year, but the rest of the games have had 4 goals. I think both teams score and we’re playing the double chance with Arsenal. I lean Arsenal at home coming off a 4-0 win vs PSV, but there is a high chance of a draw. This isn’t too juicy to pay, and the draw covers a 1-1 score.

Odds

  • Arsenal -260
  • Tie +440
  • Tottenham +600
