Ethereal Road Takes Overland Route In Sir Barton Stakes At Pimlico

Ethereal Road won the Sir Barton by 4 3/4 lengths. The race was the 24th running of the 1 1/16-mile Sirbart for 3-year-olds. It was held at Pimlico Race Course. B Dawk was second, 2 1 /4 length ahead of Mr Jefferson. Good Skate, Unikee, Goldenize and Writeitontheice completed the order of finish. The horse was trained by D. Wayne Lukas. Ethereal road was withdrawn from the Kentucky Derby field. He was instead chosen for the $100,000 SirBarton.
