Everton next manager odds: Sean Dyche back as favourite, with Marcelo Bielsa and Ralph Hasenhuttl among leading contenders after Frank Lampard sacked

Sean Dyche has been reinstalled as the bookmakers’ new favourite to become the next Everton manager.

talkSPORT BET price the former Burnley manager at 2/1 to become the new Toffees boss after

Marcelo Bielsa and Ralph Hasenhuttl, former Leeds and Southampton bosses respectively, are also among the leading contenders.

Only goal difference prevents the Merseyside club from sitting bottom of the Premier League table following their 2-0 defeat at the London Stadium on Saturday.

That was Everton’s eighth loss in nine matches, leaving the Toffees with just 15 points from 20 matches.

Lampard took over a team 14th in the table and only managed to survive relegation last season on the penultimate day.

It was 1954 when Everton last played beneath the top flight of English football, and there is now a very real prospect they could be playing Championship football next season as things stand.

Dyche, has been without a club since being sacked by Burnley towards the back end of last season, having spent just shy of 10 years at the Lancashire club.

The 51-year-old achieved promotion twice with the club and achieved their highest league position since 1974, even qualifying for European football for the first time since 1966.

Next Everton manager odds (talkSPORT BET):

  • Sean Dyche – 2/1
  • Marcelo Bielsa – 5/2
  • Ralph Hasenhuttl – 5/1
  • Duncan Ferguson – 10/1
  • Sam Allardyce – 12/1
  • Wayne Rooney – 12/1
  • Carlos Corberan – 13/1
  • David Moyes – 16/1
  • Thomas Frank – 20/1

Bielsa, whose odds have drifted from 6/4 to 5/2, was the favourite to take the role a matter of hours ago, but has since been overtaken by the former Clarets boss at the top of the odds list.

The former Leeds manager has been out of a job for the best part of a year, and did well with the Yorkshire side, finally getting them promoted in his second season in charge after 16 years outside the top flight.

The Argentinian then took the Whites to a ninth place finish in his first season back, and boasts an impressive CV elsewhere, having managed the likes of Argentina, Lazio, and Marseille in the past.

Former Leipzig boss Hasenhuttl is also in the running at 5/1.

The Austrian has been without a job since being sacked by Southampton, another side struggling in the Premier League, back in November after just shy of four years with the south coast club.

The 55-year-old achieved an 11th placed finish in his first full season in charge and managed to keep the team in the division in following years when many predicted their relegation.

Former Toffees players Duncan Ferugson, who left his role as assitant manager under Lampard in the summer, and Wayne Rooney, currently managing DC United in the USA are also in the running at 10/1 and 12/1 respectively.

Former Goodison boss Sam Allardyce is also priced at 12/1.
