Every MLB team's World Series odds ahead of 2023 season

The 2023 MLB season is just a week away, so why not get a little refresher on the World Series odds for this season?

The defending champion Houston Astros are the favorites at +600, but there are several teams (the Atlanta, Braves, New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets) with odds shorter than 10/1 to win the Fall Classic.

The baseball season is a long one, but sometimes jumping on a contender early can help bettors get the best value on them to win the World Series. Say the Dodgers or Astros run away with their division, they’ll be much closer to +300 than their current prices of +600 and +850.

Fans and bettors are in it for the long haul for the baseball season, but it just makes it that much sweeter when a preseason future cashes:

American League East World Series odds

  • New York Yankees: +850
  • Toronto Blue Jays: +1300
  • Tampa Bay Rays: +2000
  • Boston Red Sox: +6000
  • Baltimore Orioles: +10000

The AL East is probably the best division in baseball, with every team at least +10000 or shorter to win it all. It’s the only division in baseball that can say that.

The Yankees got better with the addition of Carlos Rodon, but the Blue Jays and Rays are sneaky contenders with their improvements this past offseason. With the additional wild card spot,s don’t be shocked if at least three of these teams make the postseason.

American League Central World Series odds

  • Cleveland Guardians: +2500
  • Chicago White Sox: +4000
  • Minnesota Twins: +3500
  • Detroit Tigers: +25000
  • Kansas City Royals: +20000

We go from the toughest division in MLB to arguably the weakest in the AL Central.

The Tigers and Royals are likely not contenders this season, while the Twins and White Sox made marginal moves to get better. Cleveland’s pitching staff is one of the best in baseball, but at +2500 there isn’t a ton of value on a team that lost in the ALDS last season.

American League West World Series odds

  • Houston Astros: +600
  • Seattle Mariners: +2000
  • Los Angeles Angels: +4500
  • Texas Rangers: +5000
  • Oakland Athletics: +100000

This is the Astros’ division to lose, but the Seattle Mariners are a young and improving team that could make some noise. The Angels have the two best players in MLB in Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani, but their pitching has to improve after ranking in the bottom half of the league last season.

Houston, even at +600, may be the best play in this division.

National League East World Series odds

  • Atlanta Braves: +750
  • New York Mets: +950
  • Philadelphia Phillies: +1800
  • Miami Marlins: +12000
  • Washington Nationals: +50000

The Mets (Edwin Diaz) and Phillies (Rhys Hoskins) both lost some key contributors in the spring, but this division is loaded with those top three teams.

If Bryce Harper can return sooner than the All-Star break, there is some value on the defending NL champion Phillies to win it all.

National League Central World Series odds

  • St. Louis Cardinals: +2000
  • Milwaukee Brewers: +3500
  • Chicago Cubs: +9000
  • Pittsburgh Pirates: +25000
  • Cincinnati Reds: +25000

The Cardinals may be the only true contender in this division, and they’ll need Jack Flaherty and some of their other arms to stay healthy to make a World Series run.

The Brewers have a great staff, but will they sell at the deadline like they did last year?

National League West World Series odds

  • Los Angeles Dodgers: +850
  • San Diego Padres: +1000
  • San Francisco Giants: +6000
  • Arizona Diamondbacks: +17000
  • Colorado Rockies: +50000

The Dodgers and Padres have been in an arms race in the NL West for years, but oddsmakers still give Los Angeles the edge over the up-and-coming Padres.

This should be a really run division race, but don’t expect the Giants, D-Backs or Rockies to really factor in for anything but a wild card spot.
