Exeter Races Haldon Gold Cup Day and Wincanton Races Badger Beers Chase Day are combining for the first time this weekend. The Halidon Cup has been moved from its traditional Tuesday slot to a Friday. The Betway Haldo Gold Day is the highlight of the weekend at Exeter Racecourse. Champion trainer Paul Nicholls has won the race a record seven times. Last year's Tingle Creek winner Greaneteen and Dolos are leading the charge. Third Time Lucki for Dan and Harry Skelton is also in the field.
Whisky Express, Neon Moon and Harry Fry are the favourites for the Betway 'Challenger' Stayers' Handicap Chase over 3m at 3pm. Man of the Sea carries top weight after an impressive win at Stratford last time out. Lightning Attack is the favourite for trainer Tony Newcombe. Frodon is going to compete in the Badger Beer Chase at 1.50pm with Bryony Frost. Enrillo is an eight-year-old trained by Christian Williams. The winner of 2020 renewal El Presente is for Kim Bailey. Rocco and Potterman are going for a third straight win in this race.
Christian Williams hopes to send Cap Du Nord for the Badger Beer Handicap Chase. McFabulous is the top of the market in the Grade 2 Boodles Rising Stars Novices' Chase at 1.15pm. Knappers Hill is a contender in Grade 1 Unibet Elite Hurdle at 3pm, while Tom Lacey is also a threat. Exeter and Wincanton Racecourses are hosting the inaugural West Country Weekend. The event is being broadcast on ITV Racing. The tickets are £35 each. They are available for both days. There is an offer of a £ 35 ticket for entry to both.
