Betway Haldon Gold Cup: runner-by-runner guide and tip

The Betway Haldon Gold Cup takes place on the first Tuesday in November. The race is usually held on November 1st, but this year it's 72 hours later.

Greaneteen won the Betway Haldon Gold Cup last year and is aiming to win it again in 2020. Grean 19 runs off 168 and will not find it easy conceding 15lb and upwards.

Third Time Lucki won at Cheltenham and Doncaster last season. He also ran well chasing Edwardstone in the Kingmaker at Warwick. The ground will be in his favour and he's won first time out for the past two seasons.

War Lord finished fourth in the Arkle last term and was runner-up in Grade One company on two occasions. He finished a nose in front of Third Time Lucki on the first occasion at Sandown. War Lord is 4lb better than Third time Lucka.

Dolos is guaranteed more than £4,440 if he beats one home in the race at Sandown. Dolos has won the Sandow race twice before, but has been beaten first time out for the past five seasons.

It's been four years since Alan Johns' last won a race. He's finished runner-up in four Grade One contests and twice placed at the Cheltenham Festival. His form has deteriorated and he's obliged to race from 8lb out of the handicap.

Third Time Lucki is the winner of the Betway Haldon Gold Cup. Greaneteen is second, followed by Greantheen, Warlord and then the fifth team, US and them.
