Family of 'Britain's unluckiest punter' handed Grand National dream after 70 years of hurt
George Atkinson died last month at 104 after a fall from his mobility scooter. He had been betting on the Grand National for 70 years. His family are going to Aintree this Saturday to take part in the race. William Hill has made a £104 bet on George's behalf. The odds of the winning horse will be multiplied by 104. All the money will go to charity. The family will raise £10,504. Mon Mone won the 2009 race at 100-1 odds. George was the oldest person to give away a bride. Last year he took a dozen steps to with granddaughter Sally-Ann to Thaxted Church, Essex.
