Fann Mail: Assessing the Mariners' remaining offseason needs

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Twitter mailbag, I have answered some questions about Seattle sports. The questions covered a number of topics, including the Mariners, Seahawks and other topics. The biggest question is whether the Seattle Mariners should have signed Carlos Correa to a long-term contract. They should also have taken a chance on Kolten Wong.

The Seattle Mariners didn't look for a new left fielder. They signed Jarred Kelenic to be their opening day left-fielder. Seattle can keep Geno Smith by using the franchise tag and negotiating a multi-year contract. The team could trade back from Denver’s pick with every win. Denver's pick is currently slated to number 3 with three games left to play. Alabama”s Will Anderson and Georgia“s Jalen Carter are the clear-cut defensive linemen in the upcoming draft class. John Schneider might look to trade down and acquire additional draft capital if both Anderson or Carter go off the board.
