FC Dallas looks to end road woes with Sunday match at Portland

When playing away from home, the odds of FC Dallas getting a win have been slim.

The team has two victories in eight attempts on the road. On Sunday, it will seek its third when visiting the Portland Timbers.

A 1-0 win in Miami on April 8, and another in Austin on May 13 by the same score, have been the only FCD wins outside of Toyota Stadium. Three draws and three losses complete the team’s record on the road.

For Sunday’s game at Providence Park, FC Dallas striker Jesús Ferreira arrives as the league’s joint-top scorer with 10 goals, along with Dénis Bouanga (LAFC) and Hany Mukhtar (Nashville).

Despite his performance, Ferreira was not considered for the United States National Team roster that will face Mexico on Thursday in the semifinal of the Nations League.

Ferreira is on pace to surpass the 18 goals he scored during the 2022 campaign, which helped earn him a World Cup roster spot with the USMNT.

FCD travels to Portland in fourth place in the Western Conference with 26 points while Portland ranks 11th with 17 points.
