Film Forecast: Southern Miss. at Miami, 9/10

The Miami Hurricanes and Southern Miss. Golden Eagles will play each other on Saturday, September 10th at noon on the ACC Network. Miami is coming off of an easy 70-13 victory over the Bethune Cookman Wildcats. Southern Mississippi lost to Liberty 29-27.

The Golden Eagles are ranked 95th, while Miami is ranked 14th. Miami's offense is 10th and Southern Miss' is 114th while scoring 70 PPG. Southern Mississippi managed 27 points against Liberty Flames in four overtime's in Week 1. The Golden Eagle's running back Frank Gore Jr. rushed for 178 yards on 5.6 yards per carry with two TD’s against the Flames.

Southern Miss. offense is almost at flexbone proportions. Southern Miss lost to Liberty 13 times in a four-overtime game. The team's defense needs to be better. Caleb Johnson will play more at LB against So. Miss., because Frank Gore Jr. will line up all over the field.

Tyler Van Dyke and Xavier Restrepo are the main targets for Miami's quarterback. Southern Miss. will bring more pressure than BCU. Miami will rely on blocking tight ends to overcome offensive line issues. Averie Habas and Santrell Latham made 13 tackles, a sack, four TFL’s and a PBU against Liberty.
