Five best NRL 2023 futures multi CODE bet

The best part of a new NRL season is the hope. Everyone starts with a clean slate... but some have cleaner slates than others, with a few obvious teams that will be looking to build on their 2022 efforts.

But who will be the locks? Which teams do the odds like the look of to stick at the top of the standings all season? Well, when we’re talking futures, Ladbrokes offer a market that allows multiple NRL futures bets to be clustered together and building one offers an intersting view of the season ahead.

Plus, who doesn’t love a little investment to keep us entertained throughout the regular season?

If you have some conviction over how teams will go in season 2023, it’s worth a look to see how that matches up with the odds on offer.

Here’s what we’re looking at ahead of the 2023 NRL season kick off.

Sydney Roosters - Top 4 @ $1.70

Hype around the Chooks has certainly taken a sharp incline in the last fortnight, with many circling them as the title fancies.

If the side gets off to a better start than their efforts in the early stages a year ago, it’s hard to see Sydney missing the top two, let alone the four.

We could look back later in the season and wonder how there was ever any doubt over their credentials. If any team pulls away like Penrith did last year, it’s this squad.

Cronulla - Top 4 @ $2.50

This Sharks outfit looks to be ripening nicely under second year head coach Craig Fitzgibbon. They boast the reigning Dally M medallist in Nicho Hynes, plus a stacked forward pack that will undoubtedly raise their game-to-game floor.

On paper, the club’s draw looks a little more challenging than last season, as they shocked plenty to finish second on the ladder.

But their natural improvement should cancel out that concern.

A top 4 spot at $2.50 seems like excellent value for this group to follow on from last year’s breakout campaign.

South Sydney Rabbitohs - Top 8 @ $1.40

In what world are premiership threats the Rabbitohs missing the eight?

You could argue things got a little sketchy last year during Latrell Mitchell’s time on the sidelines, but only injury disaster could deny Souths finals entry this season.

North Queensland Cowboys - Top 8 @ $1.45

This was the club that came from the clouds in 2022, wrapping up a double chance and a home Prelim.

Things would have to go dramatically wrong for them to miss finals altogether in 2023.

Parramatta Eels - Top 8 @ $1.60

Last year’s Grand Finalists will have to extend themselves to get back into the big dance after losing a couple of key starters.

While the addition of J’Maine Hopgood looms as one of the buys of the year, it’s likely we see the Eels go backwards. But not bottom nine backwards.

While each of those events, individually, looks a really strong chance, there are of course always curve balls across a season of rugby league.

Hopefully only targeting five teams means the impending surprises are avoided.

How many changes to the top eight will we realistically see from last season to the one coming? Maybe two, probably one.
