Flightline, here to race

Flightline set horse racing alight at Del Mar last weekend. He is to be treated as a racehorse and not a fast-tracked stud horse. Flightline is unbeaten in five starts and is long odds-on to stretch it to six in the Breeders’ Cup Classic in November. Secretariat was retired at the conclusion of his three-year-old season but he was not protected on the racetrack. He raced beyond his Triple Crown success in 1973 and was beaten three times late in his season.
