Football: Pat Farrell, Johnny Schmitt set for Illinois

Pat Farrell is a senior defensive end at St. Rita. He played football, basketball and baseball as a junior. Last season he played varsity football for the first time and he was named the Catholic League Green’s defensive player of the year. The senior will play for Illinois as preferred walk-on. Johnny Schmitt will join him. The two are neighbors. They played together at the high school. It was a great season for him and his team. His coach, Todd Kuska, watched him grow up. For him, the chance to play in college for his home state school was something he couldn't pass up and it means a lot.
