Football previews: Lakeside Lutheran, Lake Mills, Johnson Creek hit the road for Level 2

Lakeside Lutheran's football team plays Catholic Memorial in a WIAA Division 4 Level 2 game on Friday at Carroll University. The fourth-seeded Warriors (8-2) face the top-ranked Crusaders (10-0). Catholic has won five state titles since 2012 and three consecutive from 2018-21. There was no state tournament in 2020 because of COVID-19.

Lake Mills and Lodi meet in a WIAA Division 4 Level 2 game on Friday. The third-seeded L-Cats (7-3) face the second-ranked Blue Devils (8-2). LDi won the last time they played each other 28-10 at home in week nine. Ldi was state finalists in 2015 and state champs in 2017. Lake Mills is playing in its sixth Level 1 game since 2016. L Di has missed the postseason just once since 2001. This season, L di's junior quarterback Mason Lane has thrown for 1,236 yards and ran for 1.253 yards.

Johnson Creek is playing in the Level 2 playoffs. The Bluejays are seeking their second-ever trip to Level 3. C-F is 11-0 and beat Johnson Creek 28-22 on Sept. 9. Johnson Creeks lost the turnover battle 5-1 in their first meeting. Bluejay's quarterback Dylan Bredlow is recovering from appendicitis.
