Football punter makes 'worst cash out ever seen'
One football punter was left beyond gutted after he made the ‘worst cash out ever’ – stopping his 3129/1, 18-fold accumulator early for just £34.68.
The acca that was placed on last weekend’s football action was shared on social media as he showed his free £10 stake on the huge odds bets that he cashed out for profit just games in. The punter had both Rangers and Liverpool to win in the early Saturday afternoon kick-offs but was left ruing his luck after the rest of Saturday’s results came rolling in.
His bet included wins for RB Leipzig, Aston Villa, Fulham, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Norwich City, Celtic, Exeter City, Gillingham, Preston North End, Barnsley, Wrexham, Ipswich Town and Sunderland during the 3pm games where it’s assumed he took the money possibly midway through those games.
On the face of it, the man’s cash out makes sense with Palace, City and Sunderland all trailing in the first-half whilst Spurs fell a goal behind against Sheffield United in the second-half, even trailing until the 97th minute.
But in what must’ve been a sickening twist of fate for the punter, all teams managed to turn their results around to win whilst Spurs scored in the 98th and 100th minute to snatch three points in a bonkers Saturday afternoon.
The acca then relied on just two results on Saturday afternoon, and with a Callum Wilson penalty guiding Newcastle United to a 1-0 victory over Brentford, Barcelona at win at home against Real Betis was the last leg of the acca. And to the horror of the punter, Barca duly hammered Betis 5-0, seeing his £34.68 profit potentially being £31,295.
A video of the man’s bet slip was posted to social media and captioned it the “worst cash out I’ve ever seen in my life,” with the account also saying: “He cashed out cos Tottenham were losing in the 83rd.” Fellow punters soon flooded the comment section, one said: “Bet he’s in tears.” While a second commented: “Makes me feel better about mine,” with a third adding: “I’d feel violently sick.”
