Reading vs PETERBOROUGH

Another daunting campaign lies ahead of Reading.

The club are extremely light on players having been relegated from the Championship, and inexperienced boss Ruben Selles has just two wins from 18 in his managerial career.

The relationship between the ownership and fans is nearing an all-time low with protests planned before the match. Reading have lost all five of their pre-season outings - failing to score in four of those.

Posh’s squad has changed over the summer, but manager Darren Ferguson has made some strong signings in addition to keeping hold of last season's top goalscorer Jonson Clarke-Harris.

Crawley vs BRADFORD

It wasn't a pretty season for Crawley last year, who narrowly avoided relegation to the National League by three points. And another tough campaign awaits.

Ashley Nadesan has left for Gillingham, while winger James Tilley and forward Aramide Oteh also departed. Player of the season Jack Powell was let go for free to Crewe.

Bradford, meanwhile, still have Mark Hughes at the helm and last season's top goalscorer Andy Cook, who netted 28 times last year.

The Bantams' squad is far stronger on paper and should start the new campaign in style.

CHARLTON vs Leyton Orient

It could be a very fruitful campaign for Charlton. The Addicks have been productive in the transfer market, most notably in attack with the addition of Cheltenham's Alfie May, who has netted 20+ in each of his last two seasons.

They've also strengthened their midfield ranks, and are expected to massively improve on last year's 10th-placed finish.

Leyton Orient are preparing for their return to the third tier for the first time since 2015 after winning the League Two title last season.

The O's have also made plenty of additions but the departures of goalkeeper Laurence Vigoroux and winger Paul Smyth are a massive blow.

They've played seven pre-season matches in preparation for a new division, and they've not won any of those, keeping one clean sheet.
