Gameday watch guide: Wisconsin Badgers vs. Oklahoma State preview

Wisconsin Badgers and Oklahoma State are playing in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl on Tuesday night. The game is a farewell game for the Badger's coaching staff.

Wisconsin Badgers (6-6 overall) vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys (7-5) kick off at 9:15 p.m. CST from Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona. The game will be aired on ESPN.

Wisconsin is a 3.5-point favorite against Oklahoma State.

The following players will not play in the bowl game for Wisconsin after leaving the program for the NFL Draft or the transfer portal.

Graham Mertz, Tristan Monday, Titus Toler, Semar Melvin, Jaylan Franklin and Jaylin Franklin have transferred to Florida, Arizona State and Michigan State.

Wisconsin Badgers have lost several players to injury. Oklahoma State has lost seven players, including starting quarterback Spencer Sanders and tailback Dominic Richardson. The Cowboys lost their leading tackler Mason Cobb. The full list of the defections on defense includes: defensive end Trace Ford, linebacker Na'Drian Dizadare, safeties Thomas Harper and Kanion Williams, cornerbacks Demarco Jones and Jabbar Muhammad.

Al Ashford, Travian Blaylock, Justin Clark, Clay Cundiff, Mike Jarvis, Cam Large, Luna Larson, Isaac Townsend are injured. Wisconsin Badgers play Oklahoma State.

Wisconsin and Oklahoma State are playing in their first football bowl game. Wisconsin has won seven of their last eight bowl games. Oklahoma has played in 17 straight bowl Games. Luke Fickell is making his head coaching debut with the Badgers. Wisconsin's defense has recorded 12 tackles against Minnesota. The Badger's offense has scored 20 or more points in nine consecutive bowl appearances.

Wisconsin has won seven of their last eight bowl games. Oklahoma State has played in 17-straight bowl matches. This is the first time that Wisconsin and Oklahoma have met in football since 2010.

Luke Fickell makes his head coaching debut with the Badgers. Luke Ficcke is looking to become the fourth coach at UW to win a bowl game in his first attempt. Wisconsin inside linebacker Maema Njongmeta has a streak of four straight games with a sack dating back to the regular season.

Braelon Allen has 10 rushing touchdowns this year. Wisconsin has had 29 players with 10 or more rushing touchdown in a year since 1996.

Both teams are without their starting quarterback and several key players because of the NFL Draft and the transfer portal. Wisconsin's priority is to win the game. The majority of players who will play in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl in 2023 will be back in action.
