Gardaí send file to DPP after 15 suspects arrested in League of Ireland match-fixing probe

Fifteen suspects have been arrested by specialist gardaí after a four-year criminal investigation into League of Ireland match-fixing. Last May, gardai made 10 arrests as part of the high-profile probe. Since then, investigators made a further five arrests. The files will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions. The investigation was launched in 2019 after FAI and Uefa submitted reports to gardas regarding possible match fixing in two games involving Limerick FC in 2018. One of those arrested is a well-known League footballer, a manager and a player.
