Gareth Southgate opens up on Ivan Toney England World Cup snub and talks gambling probe

Gareth Southgate has denied that Ivan Toney was not included in his World Cup squad because of the ongoing gambling investigation. Tony is alleged to have broken FA rules around betting before joining Brentford in 2020. He was called up for the Nations League games with Italy and Germany but didn't play. Southgates chose Newcastle's Callum Wilson as the back up striker to captain Harry Kane. The England boss is the top-scoring English player in the Premier League behind Harry.
