Ivan Toney issues statement as FA investigates England star over betting allegations
Ivan Toney is being investigated by the FA over historical betting allegations. The Brentford striker is hoping to make Gareth Southgate's World Cup squad. Tony has been called up to the England squad for the first time in September. Brentfords confirmed they are not commenting on the matter. England kick off their World cup campaign in Qatar on November 21. Southgates will name his squad next Thursday. He has eight goals in 13 games this season. Peterborough signed Tone for £5m two years ago. They also sold him to Brentbord for a fee potentially rising to £10m.
