Gary Portelli to make Fireburn Flight Stakes call

Gary Portelli will make a decision on Monday on whether to back up Fireburn in the Group 1 Flight Stakes at Randwick. The filly finished fifth in Saturday's $1m Golden Rose at Rosehill. Fire burn clocked the second fastest final 600m of the race. Brenton reckons she wins the Flight next week if she backs up.

Fireburn is a third elect in betting for the Flight Stakes. She will have blood work done on Monday. The field for Flight is to be announced on Tuesday morning. Sejardan will be given a freshen up and be aimed at Coolmore Stud Stake in November.
