Genesis Invitational predictions: Tiger Woods odds, picks, best bets

Tiger Woods is getting a ton of love from sports bettors ahead of this weekend’s Genesis Invitational.

At +12500 to win the tournament, Woods is the most-bet player and biggest liability to win at BetMGM, according to the sportsbook’s public relations manager John Ewing.

Woods, who is -125 to make the cut, is also the most-bet player to make it to the weekend at Riviera Golf Course in Los Angeles.

About 80 percent of bets are on him to make the cut, per Ewing

Woods is also +2500 to finish top-five and +360 to finish top-20 this weekend.

FanDuel Sportsbook is offering a boost for Woods’ first round, which kicks off at 12:25 p.m. ET on Thursday, with +100 odds on Tiger to make 3+ birdies during his opening round action.

Woods will be making his first PGA Tour start since the Masters and subsequent ankle surgery on Thursday at Riviera, a tournament he hosts with a limited field of top golfers.

The golf legend has played the tournament 12 times as a pro and never won, including a 45th-place finish last year.

Scottie Scheffler enters the tournament as the consensus betting favorite at +650 (FanDuel Sportsbook).

Rory McIlroy is +1000, the second-best odds at FanDuel, followed by Viktor Hovland (+1400), Xander Schauffele (+1600) and Justin Thomas (+1600) to round out the top five.

Collin Morikawa and Patrick Cantlay at +1800 and Ludvig Aberg and Max Homa at +2000 are the only other players with odds at 20/1 or better.

Long shots have been red-hot on the PGA Tour so far this season.

Nick Taylor’s win at the Waste Management Phoenix Open last weekend was the sixth straight time a winner had triple-digit odds to win the tournament on the PGA Tour.

Taylor was +15000 — slightly longer odds than Woods as he heads into this weekend’s play.
