2024 Genesis Invitational odds, picks, bets: Tiger Woods predictions by proven model that's nailed 10 majors

The 2024 Genesis Invitational will have plenty of storylines to follow, but one of the most exciting will feature Tiger Woods. The 15-time major champion's last official start on the PGA Tour came at the Masters in April, where he was forced to withdraw in the third round due to plantar fasciitis. Woods has recorded 82 wins on the PGA Tour, but he's never won at Riviera Country Club. The Genesis Invitational 2024 is set to get underway from Riviera on Thursday, Feb. 15.

According to the latest 2024 Genesis Invitational odds, Woods is a massive 150-1 longshot. Scottie Scheffler, the No. 1 ranked player in the world, is the 7-1 favorite, followed by Rory McIlroy (17-2), Viktor Hovland (12-1), Xander Schauffele (14-1), and Max Homa (14-1). Before locking in your 2024 Genesis Invitational picks, be sure to see the golf predictions and projected leaderboard from the proven computer model at SportsLine.

SportsLine's proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020. In fact, the model is up more than $9,000 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.

McClure's model predicted Jon Rahm would finish on top of the leaderboard at the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express. At the 2023 Masters, the model was all over Rahm's second career major victory heading into the weekend. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the third round, but the model still projected him as the winner. It was the second straight Masters win for the model, which also nailed Scottie Scheffler winning in 2022.

In addition, the model included Nick Taylor in its best bets to win the 2023 RBC Canadian Open. That bet hit at +7000, and for the entire tournament, McClure's best bets returned nearly $1,900. McClure's best bets also included Jason Day (17-1) winning outright at the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson and Rickie Fowler (14-1) finishing on top of the leaderboard at the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic.

This same model has also nailed a whopping 10 majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed it has seen massive returns.

Now that the Genesis Invitational 2024 field is set, SportsLine simulated the tournament 10,000 times, and the results were surprising. Head to SportsLine now to see the projected leaderboard.

Top 2024 Genesis Invitational predictions

One major surprise the model is calling for at the 2024 Genesis Invitational: Xander Schauffele, a seven-time PGA Tour champion and one of the top favorites, struggles this week and doesn't even crack the top five. Schauffele recorded three consecutive top-10 finishes to open the 2024 season, but he's coming off a T-54 showing at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in his last start.

Schauffele remains one of the best iron players on tour, but he's struggled mightily with his putter this season. The 30-year-old enters this week's event ranked 137th in putts per round (30.18), 140th in one-putt percentage (33.33%), and 141st in strokes gained: putting (-0.517). He's also failed to crack the top 10 in each of his last five starts at the Genesis Invitational, which doesn't bode well for his chances to finish on top of the leaderboard at Riviera.

The model has also revealed where Woods will finish in the 2024 Genesis Invitational. Woods will make his latest return when he seeks his first career win at Riviera this week. The 15-time major champion is making his first non-major start since the 2023 Genesis Invitational, and he is making his first official PGA Tour start since his early exit at the Masters last April.

He did participate in the Hero World Challenge, an unofficial PGA Tour event, in December. He finished 18th in the 20-player field and he enters this week's event ranked 893rd in the Official World Golf Ranking. The model just locked in its Tiger Woods Genesis Invitational picks here.
