Glorious Goodwood Day 3 Tips 2023: Check out all the best bets for Thursday's action

We preview all the action on day 3 of Glorious Goodwood and you can see our Glorious Goodwood Day 3 Tips here on a day that will see the Nassau Stakes and Richmond Stakes take centre stage on the Sussex Downs. Find out the bets from our in-house tipster Steve Chambers here...

Sent off favourite for the King George V Stakes Handicap at Royal Ascot back in June, Sir Michael Stoute's PERFUSE was unable to make it three wins out of four, but the son of Lope De Vega could get back to winning ways in the hugely competitive 13:50 contest on Thursday afternoon and is entitled to be towards the head of the betting.

He wasn't disgraced at the Royal meeting when fourth in a cracking renewal of the King George V Stakes and he's been left on the same mark of 94, so he certainly looks capable of landing a significant blow in this sort of event off that mark. An impressive winner of a Doncaster novice event prior to that Ascot run, the Freemason Lodge inmate can down the likes of Garden Route and Crack Shot in this opening ITV contest on day three of Glorious Goodwood.

Aidan O'Brien will attempt to land a third victory in the Richmond Stakes and the Ballydoyle maestro will saddle the well-fancied UNQUESTIONABLE, who was last seen just being touched off by the classy Bucanero Fuerte in the Group 2 Railway Stakes at the Curragh and the son of Wootton Bassett can build on that effort with victory in this Group 2 event.

Touched off that day by a short head, Unquestionable produced a huge career best as the pair had pulled over four lengths clear of their rivals that day in Ireland and he holds some notable Group entries for later in the season, so the O'Brien team must hold him in very high regard and he can bag a second career win here. The likes of Jasour, who won the July Stakes at Newmarket, and Nottingham maiden winner Vandeek will be big rivals, but it's the Ballydoyle raider that can just have that little bit more toe to land the prize.

Only six runners will go to post for the Group 3 Gordon Stakes on Thursday and all eyes will be on the recent Listed winners Espionage from the yard of Aidan O'Brien and Simon & Ed Crisford's Chesspiece, who dominate the betting. However, that pair could be worth taking on with a value alternative and ARTISTIC STAR makes most appeal at the current odds.

Ralph Beckett's son of Galileo failed to make any impression in the Derby at Epsom as he struggled to deal with the track and was doing all his best work at the finish, while he was no match for King Of Steel in the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot, as he finished third. This looks a much easier task than that and with a potential tilt at a St Leger at the end of the season, the classy three-year-old can outstay his rivals in this event before using it as a springboard to final Classic of the season at Doncaster next month.
