Game 3 – Golden Knights at Stars

Knights lead 2-0

8:30 p.m. on TNT, SN, CBC

Overtime magic has benefitted the Golden Knights through the first two games, thanks to Brett Howden and Chandler Stephenson. As they enter Game 3 in Dallas, they could have whatever powers they’ve conjured up playing on the road this postseason. The Golden Knights are 4-1 on the road this postseason, and the only other team with a better road record is the Florida Panthers. You must always take regular season events with a grain of salt, but the Golden Knights did lose their lone game in Dallas this season in a shootout. But that stat aside, Vegas has proven to be a strong road team this postseason. They could bury the Stars in their series if they get off to a good start.

Dallas is now in slightly unfamiliar territory this postseason. They’ve lost all three of their Game 1s this postseason, but this is the first 2-0 series deficit they’ve faced. If you’re looking for Stars players to step up, consider the play of Jason Robertson. Many people have asked for more from him, and some have wondered about his confidence. But he now has goals in back-to-back postseason games for this time this spring. That’s promising. But they’ll need the rest of their big guns to produce again. Looking at you, Roope Hintz, Jamie Benn, et al. Jake Oettinger will also hope for a rebound performance in Game 3, after Games 1 and 2 saw him with save percentages below .900. If the Stars’ firepower performs up to standard, there’s hope for them in the series again.
