Golden Knights vs Stars Prediction, Odds & Picks

After a hockey-less Tuesday, the NHL is back with a massive 14-game slate lined up for Wednesday, Nov. 22. At the core of the action is none other than a Western Conference collision between the Vegas Golden Knights and Dallas Stars on TNT at 9:30 p.m. ET.

The Golden Knights haven’t been that dominant lately, losing for the third time in four games with Sunday’s 3-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. On the flip side, the Stars improved to 5-1-0 in their last six games following a 6-3 victory against the New York Rangers to begin the week.

These teams are among the top betting picks to win the Western Conference. The Golden Knights currently sit at +400 odds (2nd-best) while the Stars are breathing down their neck at +425 (3rd-best), per Bovada.

With just a few hours to spare, let’s dive into this betting preview, featuring my Golden Knights vs Stars prediction, the latest NHL odds, and the best bets to make tonight.

Golden Knights vs Stars Prediction & Pick (Nov. 22)

This is the second Golden Knights-Stars clash of the 2023-24 campaign. The Western Conference juggernauts first met in Las Vegas on Oct. 17, resulting in a 3-2 shootout win for the Golden Knights as Kaedan Korczak and William Karlsson also had two points a piece in regulation.

Another matchup with Dallas is exactly what Vegas could need to get back on track. After all, the Golden Knights emerged victorious five times in their seven previous clashes with the Stars, outscoring them by an average of 1.5 goals.

Having said that, the Golden Knights likely don’t have a ton of confidence heading into this matchup. As mentioned before, they’ve dropped three of their last four games and were even shut out in two of those losses.

The Stars, meanwhile, are clicking. Peter DeBoer’s club has won five of their last six games due to an offense that’s averaging 4.8 goals per game during that stretch. Matt Duchene and Tyler Seguin have been Dallas’ best players during that run, racking up 10 points apiece.

In fact, six Stars are playing at a point-per-game pace over the last six games.

In other words, Golden Knights goaltender Logan Thompson must be better than he has been. He’s lost three consecutive starts, playing to a 3.02 goals-against average and .900 save percentage along the way.

Having said that, the Stars’ Jake Oettinger hasn’t exactly been lights-out. The veteran netminder has a 3.25 GAA with four sub-.900 SV% performances in his last five starts.

With both goaltenders struggling to find consistency, I’m going with the team whose offense is clicking and that’s the Stars. Dallas is proving that it’s also a Stanley Cup contender and I think it has what it takes to add to Vegas’ recent woes.

I don’t see the home team beating the visitors by multiple goals, though, so let’s ride with the Stars on the moneyline instead of the spread.

Golden Knights vs Stars Prediction: DAL wins

Golden Knights vs Stars Best Player Prop

After looking through the Golden Knights vs. Stars player props, I’m going with a Matt Duchene anytime goal.

Duchene has been the Stars’ best goal-scorer recently, racking up six goals in his last 10 games. Four of those markers came in his six most recent outings, which includes an impressive 26.7% shooting percentage during that stretch.

With a goal in his last home game against the Golden Knights, don’t be surprised if Duchene finds the twine again tonight.
