Grand National Odds: The Latest Prices for All Top Contenders

At the time of writing, the 2023 Grand National is just hours away. It’s a time of year when punters of all varieties tend to get a little excited, and understandably so. Top-level bookmakers are handing out bonuses like never before, and the Grand National odds are chopping and changing by the minute. So naturally, horse racing fans are chomping at the bit for a piece of the action.

Furthermore, if you’ve been following the Grand National odds since they were first released, you may have an idea of where the value lies. But even if you haven’t been following closely, you’ll soon know who the favourites are, why the odds are at those levels, and hopefully – you’ll be able to lock in the best prices before the race begins.

Ready to get started? Let’s jump right into it.

Breakdown of the Grand National Odds for Major Competitors Today

Before I give you the rundown of the latest Grand National odds, I must clarify one thing. While these odds are correct at the time of publication, they could well have shifted by the time you come to place your bets. Not only is this probable on the day of the race, but it’s pretty much a guarantee. Therefore, my advice is to check in with each of the mentioned bookmakers for the adjusted Grand National odds when you can.

And with that taken care of, let me now provide an overview of the top five favourites ahead of the 2023 Grand National.

Ain’t That A Shame – 9/1 at William Hill

Although the price of 9/1 at William Hill is the highest you’ll get right now, Ain’t That A Shame has emerged as the race favourite across the board. Most bookies have this horse down at 8/1, putting him narrowly ahead of the next horse in line – Delta Work. And if you’re curious as to why this horse has risen above the rest, I’ve got one name for you, Rachael Blackmore.

She is now confirmed as the jockey for this horse today, and as the 2021 winner, Blackmore obviously knows how to win at Aintree. At the same time, Ain’t That A Shame is a very talented long-distance runner.

Delta Work – 9/1 at Ladbrokes

Of all the 40 horses that are set to compete in the Grand National today, this is my pick of the bunch. On average, the top bookmakers in the UK have this horse down at 9/1, although some have him at 8/1. So as you can see, Delta Work is nipping at the heels of Ain’t That A Shame in terms of the Grand National odds. Furthermore, if you look through this horse’s CV, it’s understandable why he ranks so highly.

He’s a two-time Cross Country Chase winner at Cheltenham, and he was 3rd in the Grand National last year.

Corach Rambler – 10/1 at Paddy Power

Moving down the rankings to the 3rd favourite now, we arrive at Corach Rambler. Interestingly, this horse has had the shortest price of the lot during the build-up to the Grand National. This was largely fueled by his jockey, a previous Grand National winner in the form of Derek Fox. Anyway, the shortest price seen for Corach Rambler was 7/1 to win the Grand National, which is significant.

However, Corach Rambler has since slipped down the price ladder, putting him at 9/1 with most bookmakers. But if you back this horse at Paddy Power, you can secure the odds of 10/1.

Noble Yeats – 12/1 at William Hill

Does this horse really need an introduction these days? Noble Yeats won the 2022 Grand National in spectacular fashion. Best of all, his Grand National odds that day were 50/1, which is just an incredible story. Of course, Noble Yeats is back for more today, and I’ve seen him down at 9/1 with certain bookies. However, we are all about finding the best price, and the 12/1 odds at William Hill fit the bill.

Gaillard Du Mesnil – 12/1 at Bet365

Last but not least, Gaillard Du Mesnil has climbed the pack and reached the top five favourites group. Much like others in this shortlist, this horse has odds as high as 9/1 with some bookmakers. So people are definitely throwing some cash at this horse ahead of the race. And based on his prolific win in the National Hunt Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, these odds are justified.
