Grand National runner and riders for 2019-2018 winner Tiger Roll heads the remaining 81 runners

There are 81 runners for the 2019 Randox Health Grand National. Tiger Roll is the reigning champion and is one of the favourites. He won the Glenfarclas Country Chase for a second successive year at the Cheltenham Festival.

There is a maximum field of 40 plus four reserves for Randox Health Grand National at Aintree on Saturday, April 6, 2019. There are 81 entries after the March 19 scratchings' deadline (37 Irish-trained), 3 not qualified: Woods Well (IRE), Ned Stark (IRI), Van Gogh Du Granit (FR).

Tiger Roll heads the remaining 81 runners. Elegant Escape, Edwulf, Black Corton, American, Traffic Fluide, Sizing Codelco, Total Recall, Master Dee, The Last Samuri, Some Neck, Give Me A Copper, Willie Boy, Ballyhill, and Blydine have been scratched. Woods Well, Ned Stark and Van Gogh Du Granit are out of the running. The next stage for declarations is the five-day entries on April 1. Final maximum 40-strong field will be revealed on Thursday, April 4.

Tiger Roll is the current favourite for the Grand National. He is 8lb "well-in" according to the handicapper Martin Greenwood. Pleasant Company is a last year's runner-up. Willie Mullins has a team of seven horses. He has won the Cheltenham Gold Cup with Al Boum Photo last week. The remaining 81 runners are: Tiger Roll, Rathvinden and Pairofbrowneyes. They are all trained by Ellliott.

Bristol De Mai is still engaged for the Grand National. Tony Martin's Anibale Fly is also still a general 25-1 chance. David Pipe won the National with Comply Or Die in 2008. He has three entries with Ramses De Teillee, Daklondike and Vieux Lion Rouge. They will all be schooling over the fences next week. The Grand Nats takes place on April 6. It's a very soft ground. Daklonke is a bit unsure about running. he's talented but quirky. and would need it soft. for his entry. His other two entries are Vieaux Lion Rouger and Ramse De Tielle.
