It’s Game 2 of a three-game set between the Cleveland Guardians and Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday, May 30, 2023. The teams began the series on Monday afternoon with Cleveland winning 5-0 as +130 underdogs.

The Orioles have been installed as -145 home favorites on Tuesday to even up the series.

The Guardians vs Orioles odds for Tuesday make Baltimore a heavy favorite to rebound with a victory over Cleveland at -145 odds. The Guardians are +125 on the moneyline and the total for the game is set at 8.

Both teams are still well in the mix in their division races with Cleveland third in the AL Central despite owning a losing record at 24-29. They’re still just four games back of the division-leading Twins after Monday’s win.

The Orioles are second in the AL East that boasts five teams with a winning record. At 34-20, they’re five games back of the Rays at 39-17 as of Monday evening.

On Monday afternoon the Guardians and starting pitcher Logan Allen were able to silence the Orioles’ bats in a 5-0 win. Allen went seven innings and pitched ten strikeouts while only giving up three hits.

Offensively, Cleveland’s bats came to life with nine hits and a four-run seventh inning added to their run in the fifth to pace them to the 5-0 win. Will Brennan (3 hits), as well as Steven Kwan and Cam Gallagher (2 each) all had good days at the plate.

It was just the fourth time the Orioles have been shut out this season and the first time since May 14, a streak of 13 games.

The probable pitchers for Tuesday’s game are Cal Quantril (2-3) for the Guardians going up against Kyle Gibson (6-3) for the Orioles.

Quantril has just two wins in ten appearances, (3 losses) and five no decisions. He brings a 4.75 ERA and 1.35 WHIP to Tuesday’s game.

For Baltimore, Gibson has six wins and two no decisions in 11 appearances this season. He owns a 3.82 ERA and 1.30 WHIP.

The Orioles have been one of the league’s top ATS teams for bettors this season. After Monday’s game, they were 33-21 in run line betting, ranking third overall.

Meanwhile, Cleveland has been costing their backers money this season going 23-30, ranking 24th.

Guardians games have been low-scoring going 17-34-2 in totals betting. That makes them the league’s second-highest “under” team from a betting standpoint. That trend continued Monday with Cleveland playing to their eighth straight under.

It’s easy to see when you consider they own the league’s 28th-ranked team batting average of just .226, plus own the sixth-best opponents’ batting average of .246.

The Orioles have been more balanced in their totals bets, but do skew to the over, at 27-24-3. That being said, they’ve now played to the under for three games in a row and in four of five, scoring zero, three, three, two and one run in those games.

With a lot of under trends going for both teams right now, that’s how I’ll look to play this on Tuesday.

Pick: Under 8 (-110)

Here is a prop to consider from each team for your Guardians vs Orioles player props on Tuesday.

This prop depends on who is catching for Cleveland on Tuesday. Currently, there is no line for Gallagher on DraftKings, which could mean they’re expecting Mike Zunino to get the start.

There’s not a ton of value in betting many players to have a hit in the batting props at DraftKings. However, the odds for one player do stand out. That’s of catcher Cam Gallagher to have zero hits on Tuesday in the Guardians vs Orioles props.

Gallagher had only five hits on the season and just three hits in his ten games during the month of May prior to Monday’s game.

Now that did change as he had one of his best games this season with two hits and two RBIs.

But that still marks just the third time in May (11 games) that he’s had a hit. It’s actually only the third time in 17 games he’s done so as well. On Monday, Gallagher was at -115 odds to not record a hit and that’s how I’d play that prop if it opens at a similar number for Tuesday’s game. But again, only if he’s playing. So if he’s not, see below.

Pick: Cam Gallagher under 0.5 hits

If Zunino gets the start he could be a good bet to get in the hit column. He last played on Sunday and had two hits. It was his second game in a row with two hits and the fourth time in five games he’s recorded at least one hit.

Pick: Zunino over 0.5 hits (-120)

Austin Hayes leads the Orioles in hits (56) and batting average (.322). That was good for 22nd and seventh respectively in the majors heading into Monday afternoon’s game.

On Monday, Hayes was 0-4. But his combined runs + hits + RBIs in his previous five games were five, four, two, three and four. Tuesday’s player prop has him listed at -120 for over 1.5 in this prop. I’ll bet Hayes to get back in the stat column on Tuesday.

Pick: Hayes over 1.5 hits + runs + RBIs (-120)
