Gunnar Henderson Rookie of the Year: What is Gunnar Henderson's MLB Pipeline ranking? Rating the highly heralded prospect's Rookie of the Year chances

Entering the 2023 season, many eyes will be focused on the Baltimore Orioles' top prospect, Gunnar Henderson, as he is set to make his debut with the big club. The third-base super prospect is expected to make the Orioles' 26-man roster with a legitimate opportunity to enter the starting lineup on opening day.

"Gunnar Henderson could do some special things for the Orioles this year," Talkin' Baseball tweeted.

The 21-year-old will enter the season as MLB's top prospect, topping the league's Top 100 list. Henderson ranks ahead of Corbin Carroll of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Francisco Alvarez of the New York Mets.

Since being drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the second round in 2019, Henderson has built into the top prospect in baseball and will certainly become a key piece for the club.

Gunnar Henderson is yet another top-tier prospect for the Orioles, who are looking to usher in a new era of Baltimore baseball. The third baseman joins Adley Rutschman, Ryan Mountcastle and eventually Jackson Holliday as the new core group that will look to help the club compete in a loaded American League East.

"Baltimore Orioles are about to be a very fun team to watch for the foreseeable future. Gunnar is that dude," Devine Sports Gospel tweeted.

Henderson looks to be a future superstar in the MLB with legitimate Gold Glove potential at third base. The ceiling is sky-high for the rookie, as his elite athleticism and above-average arm make him a versatile infielder for the Baltimore Orioles. That athleticism combined with this aggressiveness makes him a threat on the base paths.

"Gunnar Henderson just hit a BOMB in his Major League debut. The Orioles have a star in the making," Barstool Sports tweeted.

After making his debut with the Orioles late last season, Henderson's first career hit also turned out to be his first major league home run. While he finished the season with a .259 batting average, he more than held his own against big league pitching. His 92.4 average exit velocity was 4 mph over the MLB average, and his 9.8 barrel percentage and 53.7 hard hit percentage were well above the major league averages.

Henderson may be the best bet to win the American League Rookie of the Year Award. He is currently the betting favorite just ahead of Masataka Yoshida, Royce Lewis and Hunter Brown.

Gunnar Henderson and the Baltimore Orioles will look to improve upon the exciting 2022 season

If Henderson is to enter the starting lineup at the beginning of next season, it is entirely possible that the Baltimore Orioles can improve upon their shocking 2022 season. Last year, the club finished with an 83-79 record, which was ahead of the Boston Red Sox in the American League East standings.
