Yambukian is the younger brother of Victoria's champion pacer Catch A Wave. Yambuks is a four-year-old gelding who has raced just 20 times for nine wins, five placings and $113,050 in prizemoney. He is favourite to win Saturday night's Group 3 Melton Pace Final at Melon.
Catch A Wave had his first trial back at Melton on Monday night. He ran his last mile in 1min 52.6 sec. Gath and wife Kate have stable newcomer Just A Bit Touchy as an odds-on favourite in the Group 1 Australasian Premier Trotting Sale final for three-year-old fillies on Saturday. Gith’s major owner, Norm Jenkin, bought Just Bit Tandy with a view to some major races in back half of this year.
