Harry Kartz was a director of Aston Villa from 1968 to 1984. He was vice-chairman as they won the Football League in 1980-81 and European champions in 1982. Kzart was also a front gunner in RAF Bomber Command. His grandparents came to the Midlands from Prussia in what is now eastern Germany. He also owned a horse called Wellington Bomber, which finished third in the Irish 2000 Guineas. In 1979, Ktzar sided with Ron Bendall in a boardroom feud between Doug Ellis and Ron Saunders. The feud ended with Bendal taking over for the trophy-winning campaigns.
