The Atlanta Hawks have been doing it tough lately as they’ve lost eight of their last 11 games overall and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after falling short to the Grizzlies in a 125-119 loss on Saturday. Trae Young led the team with 30 points and 13 assists on 11 of 24 shooting, Dejounte Murray added 26 points on 10 of 15 shooting while Clint Capela chipped in with 20 points and 12 rebounds on eight of 11 shooting. As a team, the Hawks shot 46 percent from the field and 13 of 43 from the 3-point line as they poured in 60 points in the first half to take a 12-point lead, but they couldn’t put away the Grizzlies and allowed 75 points in the second half to suffer another poor defeat at home where they are only 4-8 so far this season. The Hawks just had no answer for the Grizzlies’ duo of Desmond Bane and Ja Morant who combined for 67 points.

Meanwhile, the Chicago Bulls have been in decent shape with eight wins in their last 12 games, but they will be looking to bounce back here after getting routed by the Cavaliers in a 109-95 loss on Saturday. DeMar DeRozan led the team with 21 points and eight assists, Nikola Vucevic added 20 points, 12 rebounds and four assists while Coby White chipped in with 17 points and seven assists. As a team, the Bulls shot 43 percent from the field and eight of 35 from the 3-point line which was good enough to hang with the Cavaliers in the first half, but they let their hard work go to waste in the third quarter where they scored just 16 points to allow the Cavaliers to run away with it in the end. Jevon Carter had a rough night as he scored just three points on one of seven shooting off the bench. After this one, the Bulls will face the Pacers.

The Hawks are keeping eyes on Jalen Johnson and Trae Young who are both questionable here, while the Bulls are sweating on the availability of Nikola Vucevic who is questionable due to a left adductor contusion. This is certainly a game where you want to check the lineups before tipoff given how important Young is to the Hawks, but even if he plays, I still think the Bulls have been the more consistent team and they’ve already routed the Lakers and the Spurs during this six-game home stand. This should be a close one, but I’ll lean towards the Bulls to get the job done at home.
