Heisman Trophy 2022 Watch List, Odds & Predictions

The Heisman Trophy is the biggest award a college football player can get. Since 1935, University of Chicago's Jay Berwanger has won the award.

Bryce Young is the 2021 winner of the Heisman Trophy. C.J. Stroud is a favorite to win the award in 2022. Hendon Hooker is also a candidate. The Tennessee quarterback is off to an undefeated start. The team is expected to make the college football playoff. They are the most likely to do so. Ohio State is an easy favorite. It is not a team that has lost a game this season. Its coach, Urban Meyer, said Rutgers' main goal was to stop the pass. He said the team won. From Patrick Murphy. According to him, the game was about stopping the passes.

C.J. Stroud is currently the favorite for the 2022 Heisman Trophy. He has 16 touchdowns and one interception so far. Ohio State is the most likely team to go undefeated up until the College Football playoffs. Stoud is on pace to throw for potentially 50 touchdowns in 2022.

Kansas quarterback Jalon Daniels is a contender for the Heisman Trophy in 2022. Minnesota Golden Gophers running back Mohammed Ibrahim has already racked up more than 500 rushing yards in the early going. UCLA's Dorian Thompson-Robinson is also a candidate. Clemson's D.J. Uiagalelei has improved his game since last season. USA Today Sports ranked him among their contenders for 2021 Heisman.  

There are some players who fall under the radar for the 2022 Heisman Trophy. Max Duggan from TCU is a name to consider. Michael Penix Jr. of Washington gained a lot of respect after his quarterback duel with Dorian Thompson-Robinson. Chase Brown is an extreme long shot but he's one of the better runners in the Big-10. He could surpass Mohammed Ibrahim. He has 604 yards and has 100+ rushing yards in every game so far this season.

Dillon Gabriel needs help to get back into the Heisman conversation. Texas running back Bijan Robinson needs to be fed the football. Treveyon Henderson needs more than 50 carries. Bo Nix needs a win to have a chance of being a finalist. Sam Hartman of Wake Forest is unlikely to make it.   Jaxon Smith-Njigba is out of the running. He was injured. The winner will be announced on December 3. It's possible that he could be a candidate for the 2022 Heisman. it's not impossible. he would have to beat UCLA, Washington, Utah, Oregon State, and probably USC.

Tyler Van Dyke and Miami have not gotten off to a good start. Jaxon Smith-Njigba is injured and not playing well. Jermaine Burton transferred from Georgia to Alabama and is not getting the boost he expected. Treason Holden has replaced him on the Alabama depth chart. John Metchie III left for the NFL and was drafted by the Houston Texans.

The winner of the Heisman Trophy from 2021 will be Bryce Young from Alabama. The voting will take place on December 3. Heisman Trophy is a prestigious award given to the winner who repeats the previous year's winner.

Bryce Young won the Heisman Trophy last season. He received 684 out of 875 first-place votes.

Archie Griffin won the Heisman Trophy in back-to-back years. Tim Tebow of Florida was a three-time finalist, in 2007, 2008 and 2009. The ceremony takes place on Dec. 10 at the Downtown Athletic Club in Lower Manhattan. The top four finalists are announced on December 5. There have been 87 players selected first in the draft but only 21 Heisman winners have topped the board.
