Heisman Watch: Can Hendon Hooker secure Heisman vs. Georgia?

Tennessee's quarterback Hendon Hooker is the betting favorite to win the Heisman Trophy. Ohio State's C.J. Stroud is second in the race. Michigan's Blake Corum is tied for third in odds.   Georgia and Tennessee are playing in an SEC East showdown on Saturday. Georgia is No. 1 in both the AP and Coaches Polls and the CFP rankings. The Bulldogs are defending their national champion. Tennessee is ranked No 2. LSU's Joe Burrow is third. He's the main competitor for the award. In the Big Ten, Michigan is unbeaten and has a contender in Blake corum.

Jahmyr Gibbs is third in the betting order at +5000. His team, Alabama, has the third-best chance of making the national championship. LSU is 66th in rush defense in allowing 142 yards per game. Gibbs has every opportunity to seize the spotlight in Baton Rouge.

Georgia's defense is ranked 90th against the pass. Stetson Bennett IV threw two interceptions against Florida. Georgia's offense is high-scoring. Tennessee's defensive coordinator, Jack Hooker, has a way of putting pressure on opposing offenses.

Max Duggan is one of only three players who have thrown for 20 or more touchdowns and thrown two or fewer picks. He has four Top-25 wins and is third in rating (185.48). His team, TCU, is undefeated and ranked No. 7 in the CFP rankings.

Will Shipley is running for Clemson. He's 27th in FBS in rushing yards (739) and 17th all-purpose (135.3 per game). He is +10000 in the current CFP rankings. Notre Dame's rushing defense is ranked in top 18 nationally.

Caleb Williams has been playing well for USC. He is tied with Corum at the top of the second tier of Heisman contenders. His next two games are against woeful pass defenses in Cal and Colorado. The stage is being set for the Pac-12 championship game.

Jalin Hyatt is the main receiver for Joe Burrow's team. He is fourth in the FBS in yards per game (113.4) and first among Power 5 players in touchdowns (14). He didn't make the top 10 in Heisman voting in 2013, but he received one third-place vote.
