The Hero World Challenge sees the return of some big names to the PGA Tour including a certain 15-time major winner…

The event, ran by Tiger Woods, will see the GOAT return for the first time since withdrawing from the Masters Tournament back in April.

Need tips for betting on this week’s golf? Matt Coles has you covered…

Coursestats: Par 72, 7,309 yards
Defendingchampion: Viktor Hovland (-16)

Scottie Scheffler @ 11/2 with bet365

Scottie Scheffler is in a lull of form. Admittedly, it’s a lull of form that has only see three finishes outside the top-20, but for the World No.1, that’s certainly a dip.

Scheffler is a two-time runner-up of this competition, in both 2021 and 2022. It will also be his first event since the Ryder Cup, which was over two months ago.

The World No.1 is the second favourite to take home the title this week, and it would end a nine-month drought for a win.

Viktor Hovland: The Norwegian has been in sublime form over the last few months, and he is also the two-time defending Hero World Challenge champion. He is this week’s favourite at 4/1 to make it a three-peat.

Tiger Woods: He just had to get a mention, didn’t he? Tiger returns this week, and although he is the rank-outsider to win at 50/1, why not back the GOAT? He’s a five-time winner of this tournament.

What else is going on in the world of golf this week?

There are also a pair of events on the DP World Tour, with the tour’s opening swing continuing with tournaments in both South Africa and Australia.

Dan Bradbury @ 18/1 to win the Investec SA Open Championship with bet365

After home winners in both South Africa and Australia last week, I’m banking on the first foreign winner of the 2024 DP World Tour campaign. That man is Dan Bradbury. The Englishman finished 3rd at the Joburg Open, and has not finished outside the top-20 in any of his last five events. Bradbury is 18/1 to secure a second DP World Tour title.

Adam Scott @ 10/1 to win the ISPS Handa Australian Open with bet365

Could it be Australian winners in back-to-back weeks? Adam Scott is a former winner of his national open, taking victory back in 2009. He is also in good form, with top-six finishes in his last two events. Scott is currently 10/1 to win on home soil again.

Minjee Lee @ 9/4 to win the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open with bet365

Home favourite Min Woo Lee was the man to win the Fortinet Australian PGA Championship on Sunday. Could his sister make it a double this week at the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open? Minjee Lee is currently 9/1, and the favourite to win.
