The Autumn Racing Carnival takes place in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide during the autumn months. It consists of various stakes class races, from Groups 1 to 3.
The first All Star Mile race took place on March 16, 2019, in the Flemington Racecourse. It's a 1600-m race with contestants competing to bag the prize money amounting to around USD$3.5 million. This year, the race was held at Moonee Valley on 13 March. The first race kicked off at 12:15 p.m. local time.
A total of 15 middle-distance horses will run in weight-for-age conditions for the All-Star Mile race. Eligible horses should be three years and over and may come from any part of the globe. The benchmark handicap rating for a thoroughbred horse should also be met.
The horses selected for the All-Star Mile race are voted for by fans 18 years or older. The horse owners pay around USD$356 as an entry fee for their horses. This year, the horse racing authority allocated the five wildcards to companies. Nominations for 2022 entries kicked off on December 7 and will close on January 10 next year. After that, fans will begin voting for favorite horses online.
The 2019 winner was Mystic Journey, taking home USD$1.6 million. In 2020 Regal Power won the race with jockey William Pike. This year, Hugh Bowman rode Mugatoo to the finish line first.
The entry fee paid by each horse gets donated to the Good Friday Appeal, a charity organization that raises funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. Since its inception in 2019, the All-Star Mile race has raised more than USD$71,250.
The All-Star Mile horse race takes place in Melbourne every year from March to May. It was introduced two years ago and has had three successful contests. The entry fees for the horses go to charity activities.
