Horse racing predictions: Lingfield and Chelmsford

The ITV Racing offering before Christmas is much-changed because of the cold snap. The meeting at Ascot is snowed off. Instead, terrestrial race fans can watch the all-weather action from Lingfield and Chelmsford.

Enda McElhinney has recommendations for all eight races on Saturday.

1.15pm Lingfield – BetUK Over 40,000 Live Streamed Races Handicap (5f). Mick's Spirit finished second in the last race. Sean Levey takes over in saddle.

1.50pm Lingfield – BetUK’s Acca Club £5 Free Bet Handicap (6f). Top-weight Admirable Lad”s run of three wins ended when he finished second at Chelmsford this month. The filly TWILIGHT MISCHIEF is lightly raced and on a low rating. Rob Hornby will be on board for the first time.

2.05pm Chelmsford – Betfred Merry Christmas Handicap (1m). Vitesse Du Son won at Wolverhampton this week. Lake Sand has winning form over course and distance.

2.25pm Lingfield – Top Odds Every Day With BetUK Handicap (1m 4f). PABLO PRINCE won over course and distance in August. He has run with credit on a trio of visits to Kempton since then.

2.40pm Chelmsford - Betfred Play Fred's 5 Million Handicap (7f). Roger Varian’s LORD PARAMOUNT bagged a novice contest at Wolverhampton over this trip 12 days ago.

Lingfield is the talkSPORT Winter Oaks Trial Irish EBF Fillies’ Handicap (1m 2f). Queen Of Ipanema and Sea Tsarina are the favourites. TEQUILAMOCKINGBIRD is 2-2 over course and distance.

Black Box missed a chunk of time before two August runs at Wolverhampton (7f) and Chepstow (5f). Robyn Brisland’s charge is an each-way contender in Chelmsford.

Lingfield – BetUK Quebec Stakes takes place at 3.33pm. ALGIERS can confirm his recent superiority over John & Thady Gosden pair Harrovian and Forest Of Dean.
