Horse racing predictions: Newmarket, Haydock and The Curragh

There are eight live races on ITV Racing on Saturday. The bet365 Cambridgeshire Handicap at Newmarket is preceded by the Cheveley Park Stakes and Middle Park stakes.

Enda McElhinney has recommendations for all eight races on Saturday. ITV Racing predictions are Newmarket, Haydock and The Curragh.

1.35pm The Curragh – Alan Smurfit Memorial Beresford Stakes (Group 2, 1m). Adelaide River will be popular for Aidan O'Brien after being inched out in a Group 3 race at Longchamp 16 days ago. Jessica Harrington's Pivotal Trigger was only three lengths behind in France.

1.50pm Newmarket – Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes (Group 2, 1m). Sea The Stars colt easily won a Listed race at Salisbury last month on third start. He has upwards of 10lb in hand on his trio of rivals and will take all the beating.

WANEES was too keen when upped in trip at Glorious Goodwood last time. Charlie Hills’ charge should be well suited back down in distance in Haydock.

2.25pm Newmarket – Juddmonte Cheveley Park Stakes (Fillies' Group 1, 6f). Trillium won the Flying Childers Stake over 5f at Doncaster this month. Mawj and Lezoo were first and second respectively in a Group 3 contest here on the July Course two months ago. MEDITATE is the one to beat for Aidan O'Brien.

Isle of Lismore is a selection for Paddy Power.

3.00pm – Juddmonte Middle Park Stakes (Group 1, 6f). Prize Morny winner Blackbeard for Aidan O'Brien is a key player. Karl Burke’s Marshman was second in the Gimcrack Stake at York last month. Charlie Appleby relies on Mischief Magic and Zoology. Persian Force was runner-up to Black Beard in France five weeks ago.

3.20pm Curragh – Goffs Million (7f). A field of 19 lines up for this valuable juvenile contest with a £600,000-plus prize on offer for the winner. Hellsing has a standout chance for Ger Lyons after winning in Listed company at Tipperary last month. Killybegs Warrior is an English raider trying to scoop this prize.
