Horse racing tips: Best bets for Port Macquarie with Matt Jones

Daily Telegraph form analyst Matt Jones gives his best bets and runs the rule over every race for Port Macquarie.

Gold Button has run second at three of his past four starts.

Mavin’denman is the best bet for Port Macquarie in Race 6, No.7.

LAPHROAIG is the best bet for Port Macquarie in Race 8, No.1.

Ashley Morgan is a jockey from Victoria. She rides Dante Alighieri, Crowned Empress and Ghost Hunter.

Cassandra Schmidt has found good races for her three runners.

Golden Button is looking for his first win. Dante Alighieri is on a quick back up off a placing at Muswellbrook last start. Rising Tide is only having his fourth start and should be getting better.

Rockabarton Ruby is ready to go up to 1500m now. Da Nang Star should be on the speed. Millennium Jewel got batter into her prep last time in and loves racing here. Mauricently will be better suited getting off a heavy track now and got to a Group 1 race in the autumn.

Leave Me Some has the fitness edge on some of these races. Two Up didn't look fantastic in his latest trial. Time For Victory lost in a photo finish last start at the provincials and before that he won here. Chase My Crown hasn't missed a top three placing at this track.

Reateros won a barrier trial off a long break. Canny Prospect finished third last start. Osterberg has drawn wide. Frosbie looked good in his latest barriertrial.

Discreet Lady has gone down by a half-length at her past two starts. Luke Rolls knows her well and stays on. Boss has drawn to get an ideal run fresh and is in a decent yard. Northern Impact ran into second in his latest barrier trial.

Ghost Hunter should be ridden behind the leaders again. Icing on the cake has the gate speed to lead from barrier one. Wannawinwin has only missed a placing on her home track once in five attempts.

Movin’ Denman is going to win at Port Macquarie. Justadude is also going for the win.  Outreach To Henry stunned them here first-up as a $15 chance.

Laphroaig has been freshened up since running ninth in Port Macquarie Cup. Mister Smartee is going well after finishing sixth in the Kempsey Cup last week. Broad Outlook has one two of his past three wins in lesser grade.
