I’ve landed on Albasheer, who dead-heated with Summerghand at York. Albasheer had to wait for Summerghand to go before making his own move and he finished strongly. He’s drawn in stall 20 which will cause no issues.

Mashia is my each-way pick at a decent price. She beat Unless back in May and finished behind Moon De Vega after that. The run behind Red Riding Hood at the Curragh last month was impressive and if she repeats that, she’s got a great chance. She should be in the places at least.

Live In The Dream’s win at York wasn’t a fluke ahead of Highfield Princess and Bradsell. The latter should have improved from that York run and he can get back to winning ways ahead of Highfield Princess. I don’t see this race being run at the same speed as the Nunthorpe.

Ylang Ylang is the most likely winner but if there’s one to turn her over, it’s Vespertilio. She finished second behind Ylang Ylang at Leopardstown in July and with the better ground, she can turn the form around.

The big question is whether Aidan O’Brien runs both City Of Troy and Henry Longfellow. Bucanero Fuerte is also in and he’s done nothing wrong at all. He’s got solid form but City Of Troy is the most likely winner. I’d be amazed if City Of Troy and Henry Longfellow both turn up – and don’t write off Bucanero Fuerte!

The ground is going to be key. Kyprios is brilliant and Ryan Moore chooses him over Emily Dickinson. It looked like Kyprios would miss out on this contest last week but he could turn up now. I’ve gone round in circles a bit but I’ve landed on Eldar Eldarov for Roger Varian, who ran well in the Goodwood Cup. He will go on the ground and we haven’t seen Kyprios for a long time as he’s been out injured.

Native American is my tentative pick as this isn’t really a betting race for me. I have my doubts over Native American having run just once at York. It’s hard to say whether he’s ready for this test at the Curragh but we’ll see!

Coeur Dor and Kingswood are both drawn very wide which is far from ideal but I’m siding with the latter. He won at Cork earlier this year and he finished third behind Drumroll at the Curragh in May. He can go well.
