Horse racing tips: Sunday selections from Newsboy for cards at the Curragh, York and Fontwell

Newsboy's Nap selection for Sunday, September 10, is the Roger Varian-trained Eldar Eldarov at the Curragh (4.35). The next best is York runner Rage Of Bamby (3.50)

ELDAR ELDAROV (4.35, nap) is fancied to add the Comer Group International Irish St Leger to the Doncaster original he won last September by beating four rivals for the one-mile, six-furlong test at the Curragh on Sunday.

Roger Varian’s four-year-old is without a win since his Town Moor triumph, finishing second under a Group One penalty in the Yorkshire Cup on his reappearance, a below-par seventh in Gold Cup at Ascot and then was fourth in Goodwood Cup.

But he has the ideal conditions to get back on track here and see off favourite Kyprios in the process.

RAGE OF BAMBY (3.50, nb) can leave his rivals angry in a high-quality Listed BetGoodwin Stakes at York.

Eve Johnson Houghton's three year old was placed in the Group Two Rockfel as a juvenile.

She did disappoint in an all-weather listed race on her reappearance in April but got her career firmly nback on track when second of 14 in a five-furlong handicap at the Ebor meeting.

She will be fine back at six furlongs and is capable of beating Emaraaaty Ana and the gallant Commanche Falls.
