Conditions will be testing at Windsor this evening but that shouldn't inconvenience Haymaker, who shaped very well in heavy ground on his return at Newbury in April.
He confirmed that promise when opening his account for the season in a useful handicap over course and distance in May, very much reiterating he's a sprinter still on the way up, and that form has worked out well.
Haymaker has shaped like still in top form on his last two starts, unlucky to bump into one who had fallen to an attractive mark and returned to form at Ascot last time. Hughie Morrison and Tom Marquand enjoyed top-level success together at Goodwood last week and have solid claims of recording another win.
LAWN RANGER - 20:30 Windsor
Lawn Ranger saves his best for this track, recording his fourth course and distance success in heavy ground in April, and he has held his form well since.
He did too much too soon when finishing midfield in a handicap at Newbury two starts back and a similar scenario unfolded at Sandown last time.
Lawn Ranger is in better form than his recent form figures suggest and now in a small-field race where there isn't much pace on paper, he may prove hard to peg back at his favoured course.
