Houston, Arlington mayors bet on ALCS between Astros, Rangers

HOUSTON — This year we're having a Texas-sized ALCS!

The Houston Astros claimed its spot in the series after defeating the Minnesota Twins in the ALDS, and the Texas Rangers swept their way into the ALCS after dominating the Baltimore Orioles.

Though Game 1 isn't until Sunday, you better believe that friendly wagers are already being made up and down I-45.

On Thursday, Arlington Mayor Jim Ross called out Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and asked him if he was willing to make the series interesting by making a bet.

"Losing team wears the other's jersey to a city council meeting. Pics or it didn't happen. What do you say?" Ross posted to X, formally known as Twitter.

Turner accepted the bet with ease because he said he has had the pleasure of seeing the Astros win the World Series twice.
