The Memphis Grizzlies have been in a slump as they've lost seven of their last 10 games and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after falling short to the shorthanded Mavericks in a 120-113 loss on Monday. Jaren Jackson Jr led the team in scoring with 41 points on 15 of 29 shooting, Desmond Bane added 28 points with eight assists while Vince WIlliams chipped in with 10 points and nine rebounds, but no other player finished in double figures in scoring. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 46 percent from the field and 18 of 44 from the 3-point line, but they just left themselves too much ground to make up after allowing the Mavericks to pour in 67 points in the first half. The Grizzlies trailed in this one by as many as 21 points before they rallied with 34 points in the fourth quarter to keep the scores respectable.

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets are starting to heat up again as they are looking to build on their three-game win streak after taking down the lowly Spurs in a 93-82 win on Monday. Tari Eason led the team in scoring with 18 points and 14 rebounds off the bench, Fred VanVleet added 16 points with six rebounds and five assists while Alperen Sengun chipped in with 15 points, nine rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Rockets shot just 34 percent from the field and 12 of 39 from the 3-point line as they poured in 32 points in the second quarter to take the lead going into the break, before they clamped down defensively and held the Spurs to just 35 points in the second half to win comfortably despite a poor shooting night.

The Grizzlies are still shorthanded with Marcus Smart and Luke Kennard out again, while the Rockets are keeping eyes on Amen Thompson and Tari Eason who are both questionable for this one. The Grizzlies have been struggling with injuries from the start of the season and they just got routed by the shrothanded Mavericks, while the Rockets are starting to surprise teams again and it's encouraging to see them win games with their defense as we saw on Monday. The line seems too hefty for this one, but I'm still going with the Rockets to continue their run with another big win here against this depleted Grizzlies team.
